SIMPLE GAME.
QUESTIONABLE BEHAVIOR.
Five steps, that's it. You’re about to care about penalties way more than expected.
01
Enter
Before each round, players commit points to join the action. One point = one card. Multiple entries allowed.
02
Choose
All cards are placed face up. Players take turns strategically selecting cards (or you can make it a free-for-all for more chaos) based on how the live game is unfolding.
03
Watch
Sit back and watch the game and wait for the whistle. Only accepted penalties count.
Emotional overreactions are encouraged.
04
Win
If the next accepted penalty/foul matches your card, you win the round and collect the percentage of the points pool shown on the card. If not, you still got to yell at referees, which is priceless.
05
Repeat
After a win, all cards go back in. Start the madness over. Regret nothing. At the end of the live event, the player with the most points wins.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Pick A Penalty?
Pick A Penalty is a sports watch-party card game where players receive cards listing specific penalties or fouls. If your penalty happens during the game, you win the percentage of the points pool listed on the card.
What do you get when you buy Pick A Penalty?
Each edition is a digital download (PDF format) for printing at home and includes 8 printable cards plus a quick rules sheet. The bundle includes all three sports (24 cards today).
How do you play Pick A Penalty?
Players start with the same number of points. Before the next play starts (or play resumes), players enter the round by committing points to the pool (1 point = 1 entry = 1 card). Players pick cards, then watch. If the next accepted penalty/foul matches your card, you win the percentage of the pool shown on the card. Any points remaining in the pool roll over. If nobody matches, the points carry over until the next accepted penalty/foul.
What sports are available?
Pick A Penalty currently offers Football, Basketball, and Hockey editions, along with a bundle that includes all three.
Do you need sports knowledge to play?
No. The game is designed so anyone can jump in and enjoy watching for penalties, even if they don’t follow the sport, or any sport, closely.

No. Pick A Penalty is designed as an entertainment and social game only.
How old do you have to be to play?

Can one person have multiple entries?

When do players receive their cards?
Players select their cards once they have entered the round. After each accepted penalty, all cards go back to the center and players select their card(s) again for the next round.
Do declined or offsetting penalties count?
No. Only penalties that are officially accepted and enforced during the game count.
CAN I PLAY WITHOUT KEEPING SCORE?
Yes! You can play it for fun and for bragging rights on each penalty or foul.

Heavyweight white paper (around 80–110 lb) or cardstock gives the cards a nice feel. Laminating or sleeving them is optional.
